I’ve never had a massage before – what can I expect
At the start of your first treatment, I will go through a consultation with you.
Where can I park
My treatment room is based from home. As I live in a residential area, to respect my neighbours, I would ask you to park in my driveway if possible please. My address details will be provided by email when you make a booking.
Lymphatic Drainage Treatment
This is a specialised therapy that is only to be carried out by a qualified therapist. I am qualified in both manual lymphatic drainage and pre and post operative lymphatic drainage, which involves moving excess fluid to the correct lymph nodes in order to drain.
I will always explain what I am doing as we go through the treatment and any questions just ask.
This is not a quick fix; yes you will feel the benefits after the first treatment but having a few sessions close together is what I recommend for the best results as it is not possible to drain everything within 1 session.
After injury or accident the lymphatic system is disrupted often resulting in fluid retention.
After cosmetic surgery your surgeon will almost always recommend regular sessions from around day 3. The number of sessions you require will vary as everyone heals at different speeds.
It is a highly effective treatment for lymphoedema as well as Lipoedema (2 different conditions).
Lymphatic drainage, post cancer treatment (after surgery / post chemotherapy / radiotherapy), is often advised to drain excess fluid.
There are many people who seem to retain more fluid than others. Some of the symptoms may be swelling of limbs, heaviness, tight skin and reduced mobility and a feeling of lethargy. Also those who may be taking a large amount of medication, experience repeated colds or generally feeling run down and sluggish; they will often be holding onto excess fluid.
